About

I am Vice-Dean and Professor of Tourism Management at the School of Social Sciences, Hellenic Open University, and Director of the Postgraduate Programme in Strategic Management of Tourism Businesses and Destinations. I hold a PhD in Tourism Management from the University of Surrey (UK).
My research explores tourism and hospitality management, with a particular focus on the social dimensions of tourism and the ways people experience, interpret, and are impacted by travel and hospitality. I am especially interested in how theoretical and methodological approaches can help us understand contemporary challenges in tourism — from the effects of new technologies and peer-to-peer accommodation to corporate social responsibility and destination management.
I serve on the editorial board of Tourism Review and currently supervise PhD research at several universities in Greece and abroad. Over the past two decades, I have combined academic teaching with collaboration on tourism projects for government bodies, private organisations, and international agencies. My work has been published in leading journals, presented at international conferences, and applied in real-world tourism strategies and policies.
